SILK RIVER

An ambitious project led by Kinetika and working with partners in both the UK and India Silk River, explores the unique relationship between London and Kolkata through a year’s artistic exchange between communities along the Thames Estuary and Hooghly River.

With a motive to raise cultural awareness of the Indo-British relationship, both Indian and international artists, writers and photographers are working in 20 locations from Murshidabad to Batanagar (Hooghly) and Kew Gardens to Southend (Thames) to capture their stories and to interpret a shared heritage and their connection to the river.

Silk River was a project that culminated in a walking festival 7th-17th December, 2017 at Murshidabad, India. More details can be found here:
